Envion Software was founded five years ago by Alexander "Sasha" Nizhnikov, an MIT computer scientist and linguist, with a small entrepreneurial nucleus of technical graduates from the U.S. and Russia. We are based in New England (U.S.), with offices in St. Petersburg (Russia) and Kharkov (Ukraine). We have clients in the U.S. and Europe, both business and institutional.

We outsource development services for Windows and Mac, Pocket PC and Palm, including client-server applications, as well as for web portals and Intranet solutions. We also do porting between platforms, facelifts and re-coding of existing applications, and development for UNIX and Linux environments. We are especially strong in natural language solutions, where we have our development roots.

We are not, however, just the standard outsourcing shop.

First, as important as what we do for our clients is how we do it. We provide our services through individual units or cells of development resources. This operational structure is purposefully organized along the lines of a technology honeycomb.

Second, we offer our clients as much control over our outsourced service and team as they want. For example, the client can control the development, the schedule, and the people in their entirety or in part. At their option, we can simply provide general oversight and guidance. We can also function as a remote R&D unit for them. Or we can do it all.

Third, our relationship with our clients is more than a contract. We see ourselves as their partners and are as committed to their projects as they are. Each of our teams—each cell of resources-works for one client at a time. We take on the work as if it were our own business. This approach personalizes what is at bottom a technical service. It has made us successful.

Fourth, we can help our clients with that one project they need special expertise for or just more resources. We can come in, do the work, and go out when done. Our clients' only risk is in succumbing to the appeal of our competence and service while we're on board-and calling us back again!
