For this provider of editing and production tools, Envion Software replaced their Omnimark-based text-conversion application with a more cost-efficient one using Perl. Although Omnimark is one of the most powerful text-processing tools available, our re-implementation nicely approximated the same performance at significantly less operating cost. Curiosity and topnotch expertise with Perl enabled us to pull off this tricky re-engineering effort.
